Greetings!

Hello, WELCOME to Ibom Metropolitan Polytechnic (IMP), Uyo, a home of academic excellence and Centre for Petro-Skills Development. IMP is located in the heart of Uyo, the capital City of Akwa Ibom State. The Polytechnic is situated in a beautiful high profile environment where there is unlimited access to security, electricity, water, beautiful accommodations, coffee shops and eateries, shopping centres, beautiful roads network surrounded with modern flyovers. IMP was founded in 2001 by Engr. (Dr.) Victor E.U. Williams, a Staff of Exxon-Mobil Corporation and approved by Akwa Ibom State Government as College of Petroleum Technology. In 2014 the Institution was upgraded to a Polytechnic with a new name as Ibom Metropolitan Polytechnic, Uyo and is accredited by the NBTE for the award of National Diploma Certificate. Today, IMP is the fastest growing Polytechnic in Akwa Ibom State, and it's widely known as one Polytechnic two qualifications Institution because of its focus on entrepreneurial skills development and certifications.

Our Entrepreneurial Skills development centre is powered by City and Guilds of London Institute, a global Leader in vocational education and qualifications. We offer specialized training in areas that are relevant to our indigenous economy and in hot demand for employment in Nigeria and Abroad such as: Petroleum Oil and Gas,Maritime,Aviation and Healthcare Other skills including, catering, fashion design, chemical and food production etc. Our Institution is fully equipped with best in class academic and non-academic staff, e-library facilities, well-equipped laboratories and workshops, unlimited internet access on campus and in the hostels, etc. In addition to the wide range of academic programmes which cut across Engineering, sciences and Management Sciences. IMP makes skill acquisition compulsory for all students. While pursuing programmes leading to the award of National Diploma, students are made to choose various skills to acquire in the course of their studentship and this earned the school the popular slogan "One Polytechnic, Two Qualifications." Ibom Metropolitan Polytechnic is unique on its own. The products of our institution are not only qualified and competent to serve in any capacity that falls within their career path; they are quipped to be employers of labour.
